Royal Botanic Gardens Wedding

Kathy and William’s Royal Botanic Gardens Wedding was magical in so many ways. From the stunning portraits in the The Royal Automobile Club followed by the 35 degrees Botanic Gardens photos, through to their beautifully choreographed first dance and the outright hilarious surprise K-pop performance by William and his groomsmen, Kathy and William’s wedding was certainly one for the books.

We started the day started at the amazing Pier One. I remember walking into the bridal prep to find myself amongst a frenzy of activity with makeup artists and bridesmaids. Despite the busy room, I was excited to have the opportunity to capture some unique photos of Kathy thanks to the help of Cathy Liu makeup.

I hadn’t photographed at The Royal Automobile Club in Sydney before. It turned out to be a stunning venue with the kind of window light that photographers only dream of!

Next, we braved the weather and visited Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens I was honestly going through the photo taking process about 3 times faster than I normally would given the crazy heat. Luckily, we all survived happy and intact. A big hats off to Kathy and William for braving the heat in their respective dress and jacket. I must admit, I had occasional pangs of guilt asking them to stand in the sun, just for ‘the shot’.  However, as you will see from the gallery below, I think it was worth it. Hopefully you agree Kathy and William!

For the reception we headed back to Pier One. William had contacted me previously, alerting me to the ‘special dance’ him and his groomsmen were teeing up for Kathy. To be honest, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. What resulted was a rather epic, extremely well choreographed and insanely funny K-pop performance. be sure to scroll through to see their awesome surprise dance!
