Kristy and Arthur’s Dunbar House wedding was an absolute joy to photograph! But things did a little hectic to begin with….
A week before their wedding, Kristy’s Airbnb had to cancel to due a robbery. Luckily Kristy was able to find a lovely little getting ready location close to the ceremony. I was super happy to find out that Kristy’s prep room had curtains. Yes, I’m a sucker for curtains, what can I say! I love closing down the curtains, letting a little peep of light in for dramatic effect, as you will see.
Kristy and Arthur got married in a beautiful little church on a hill! Their beautiful church ceremony was truly intimate. I was absolutely grateful to be able to use my Sony A9 silent shooting cameras for Kristy and Arthur’s ceremony. Using my silent ninja skills meant I was able to remain much more unobtrusive than if I were using conventional cameras. A win for everyone!
After a quick visit to Macquarie Lighthouse for an epic bridal party photo, we headed down to the infamous fig tree outside Dunbar House. Luckily the sun was in full shone, casting the most stunning golden hour light through the tree. Backlit veil shots are always a win win.

One of my favourite parts of the reception was when Kristy and Arthur did a beautiful keyboard duo. I’m not sure if the guests were privy to this, but they were holding hands the whole time they were playing together. Sweetness overload!!!
On a personal note, this was my first wedding since my paternity leave. I’d been absolutely itching to photograph a wedding after a couple of months off weddings (and being on strict daddy duties). I had also been envisaging using some different natural lighting techniques so was super glad to be able to finally fulfil my vision. You can see these after the ceremony photos.
Kristy and Arthur, thanks so much for trusting me and having me as a part of your beautiful day. I’m so glad to be able to share these beautiful memories with you!
